Flannery’s and MRN Ltd. Announce Ownership Change

Cleveland, August 8, 2005 – For people coming to downtown Cleveland for the past decade, Flannery’s has been a place they could call “home”. And it still will be. In a joint statement, the Maron Family and Denis Flannery announced that the local pub will continue to be a mainstay in downtown Cleveland, as the popular Irish pub’s ownership has changed hands from Denis Flannery to MRN Ltd.

“Flannery’s is a Cleveland institution,” said Ari Maron, Partner, MRN Ltd. “MRN is excited to have the opportunity to carry on the tradition of having a critically acclaimed, downtown Irish pub, right here on East 4th Street. This is a place where the locals matter, and we plan on getting input from our “regulars” and the downtown community so that Flannery’s can continue to be the place where locals want to be.”

“I am confident that MRN Ltd. will maintain Flannery’s as a vital part of our community,” said Denis Flannery. “Making the decision to sell your business is never an easy one,” said Denis Flannery, “but in this case it was made easier knowing that the business is going to a family that we have had a strong and positive relationship with over the years that is committed to our original vision.”

Established in 1996, the 7,500 square foot pub, located in the historic buckeye building on 4th and Prospect, is best known for its authentic, Irish menu offerings, featuring home cooked corned beef and an awesome selection of sprits, endearing local entertainment and for being the place to visit before and after a Cavs or Indians game. Over the years, Flannery’s has become the unofficial Cleveland headquarters for St. Patrick’s Day, where our guests start lining up at 3 am to get a taste of our famous green beer and other Irish treats.

MRN Ltd. is teaming with Trifecta Management Group (TMG), a restaurant management group, to manage the business. Most importantly TMG aims to preserve the aspects of Flannery’s Irish Pub that greater Clevelanders have come to cherish while also making continued enhancements to the experience. Patrons can expect over time to see menu additions, spirited entertainment and promotions and more.

The East Fourth Street Project is a mixed-use redevelopment with entertainment, retail, and residential components. Located in the Historic Gateway District, East Fourth Street serves as a connector to the Warehouse District, the Theatre District, and Public Square.
